About 15 days ago, after the death of a two and a half year old girl after being crushed by a car in Barra, a similar incident happened in Jajmau on Wednesday. While backing up in Saraiyan, a car ran over a five year old girl playing outside her house. This resulted in her death. After a panchayat was held in the police station, the family refused to take any action. However, the police took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem.
Aftab, a resident of Saraiyan in Jajmau, runs a sweets factory in Darbhanga, Bihar. His wife, four children and other family members live here. Aftab’s brother Shamsher Alam said that on Wednesday evening, his five-year-old niece Sadia was playing outside the house. Just then, a young man from the area was backing a taxi. During this time, Sadia got hit by it. The girl was taken to the hospital in the young man’s car, where doctors declared her dead. Police station in-charge Ajay Prakash Mishra said that the girl’s family is refusing to take any action, saying that it was an accident.
